Mama ka Grace here:
The end to our Kickstarter fund raising event is in sight! Just three more days to go - four if you count today.
It would take a miracle to reach our funding goal - and as much as I believe in miracles, I have a feeling that is not what is planned for us.
Instead - it's Zebra's message and Elizabeth Jansen van Vuuren's encouragement that comes to mind "I can change my boundaries when I have to; they are there to serve me in a creative way, not restrict me."
I feel we have been very well served by Kickstarter. Just actually getting the campaign together has been a huge learning curve for me - I cannot speak for Anne - and what I have learned; the personal insights are precious beyond measure and life changing! For that alone it has all been worth it - BUT added to that now is having made amazing connections with a large group of ardent, passionate supporters who are willing Wild Voices into life. I feel so wonderfully blessed for having spent this time in exchange with you - even if it is mostly through Facebook!
So where to next with Wild Voices?
I have the following suggestions to make - not having heard back from Anne yet I know I am jumping the gun so please consider this as only my ideas. In the end Anne as the creator of Wild Voices has the last say. In my defense for jumping the gun I feel the Wild Voices wheels to manifesting are turning smoothly now and I would not like them to slow down - not even a little bit!
My email to Anne abbreviated:
1. We make the cards bigger and put abbreviated messages on the back, similar to the card readings for the Kickstarter campaign - put them in a box and sell them in tourist shops and book shops.
1.1 We need a cost for box, artwork (Matt) and distribution - I could talk to Janice of Hayhouse - she said she could help us with distribution.
1.2 To raise money I make a page on the blog - put the idea there with costs and invite people to pledge money X amount for which they get a set - just one pledge level. They email you so when the total required to make up the boxed card sets is reached you contact them to pay the money in and get the ball rolling.
1.3 All income from the sale of the cards goes towards creating a cash stash to print the book and card + box.
2. We put bare-bones costs for getting Wild Voices printed on a page on the blog and invite pledges for X amount - again only one pledge level, for which they get a book and card set. For each X amount they get a set?
2.1 Pretty much the same as above for the boxed card set - when the total is reached the funders are contacted and they pay up - hopefully - and sets are printed.
A main consideration is that the burden of managing this next phase falls on Anne's shoulders as I will be leaving South Africa within the next month for good for a spell of sailing who knows where to and for how long? I will however have Henry Davies, our U.K. Kickstarter representative as my agent.
Any and all feedback most welcome - you can email me on wildvoices-at-yahoo.com, inbox message me on Facebook or if you have pledged on our Kickstarter page, directly from there.
Much Life wished for you (as I type this Fish Eagle calls from the Mzingazi River, Richards Bay!)
